Automotive Sales & Service

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Automotive Sales & Service Industry Team helps automobile dealers reach their goals with our deep industry knowledge and ability to provide advice and counsel with respect to all aspects of their business operations.

We know your business. HSB’s Automotive Industry team is comprised of attorneys who have experience working with dealers across the state and are able to provide the solutions needed with regard to real estate negotiations, corporate organization and governance, employment law, tax and estate planning, and commercial litigation representation, including vendor and customer disputes.

Our attorneys have developed the knowledge and experience to help dealers manage the complex problems that face them on a daily basis.

Commercial Litigation

Members of our Automotive Industry team are experienced in handling high stakes litigation, often involving representative or class action allegations or significant damages claims, at both the trial and appellate levels. We represent dealers in consumer warranty, financing, unfair trade practice, business practice disputes, personal injury and customer disputes, including defamation issues.

If a dispute arises, we seek ways to resolve it in the quickest, most advantageous, and cost-effective manner, often through early negotiation and pre-suit mediation. If a resolution cannot be reached, our skilled trial lawyers use their extensive courtroom experience to arbitrate or litigate the dispute to a positive final resolution.

Corporate Law

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd represents entities and individuals in establishing and running their businesses. We provide counsel on corporate governance, including representation in connection with general operations, succession planning, entity formation, asset purchases and acquisitions.

Our commercial transactions attorneys have extensive experience in a variety of commercial matters, such as the negotiating and drafting of contracts for the purchase or sale of goods and services, licensing agreements and financing and commercial lease agreements.

When drafting and negotiating contracts one of our main goals is to mitigate risk. We work with automobile dealerships to review and audit existing documents for compliance with regulations and procedures.

Tax & Estate Planning

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s corporate tax group regularly advises businesses on federal, state and local income and property tax matters arising during incorporation, on-going operations, reorganizations or dissolution. As our corporate clients prosper, our attorneys assists owners, shareholders, directors and officers to implement creative, tax-efficient strategies for expansion, benefit packages, ownership succession, reorganizations and acquisitions.

Our estate planning team advises individuals and families in all matters related to federal and state income taxes, gift and estate taxes, state and local taxes, sales taxes and wealth transfer.
