Katie Busbee is an associate in Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Greenville office and helps companies doing business in South Carolina with employment law and economic development matters.
Katie advises employers on a wide range of human resource matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, leave, ADA and FMLA compliance, discrimination and harassment. She is experienced in representing companies in government investigations before the EEOC. Katie is also a frequent speaker on employment law and contributes to www.SCEmployersblog.com, covering workplace issues.
She also helps businesses establish or expand their presence in South Carolina by negotiating state and local tax incentives, drafting fee-in-lieu-of-tax (FILOT) agreements and other incentive agreements, securing job development tax credits, obtaining grant funding and ensuring ongoing compliance with these programs.
In law school, Katie served as the Research Editor for the Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Journal.
Prior to law school, Katie was the Director of Legislative Affairs for a local trade association.
