Employers required to annually submit EEO-1 reports now have more time to compile their 2022 reports.
Last week, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released a notice stating that the 2022 EEO-1 reporting deadline has been postponed to the Fall of 2023. This is the second announced delay, as the EEOC announced in January 2023 that the deadline would be pushed to mid-July 2023, which was later than the original January to April start date that had been used in prior years.
The EEO-1 report is a mandatory annual data collection that requires all private sector employers with 100 or more employees and federal contractors with 50 or more employees (in addition to other criteria) to submit demographic workforce data, including data by race/ethnicity, sex, and job categories.
In its
announcement of the delay, the EEOC stated: “The EEOC is currently completing a mandatory, three-year renewal of the EEO-1 Component 1 data collection by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA).”
The EEOC states that it will announce the final reporting date on its website at a later time. Our employment law team will keep you updated. Stay tuned.
