Two Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd Attorneys Named Leadership in Law Honorees

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to announce two shareholders have been named to South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s 2019 Leadership in Law Honoree list.

Chris Gantt-Sorenson and Jeremy Cook are among 29 attorneys from across the state to be recognized. Nominated by their peers and selected by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly, Leadership in Law honorees have achieved success in their practice and have made a positive impact on the legal community as well as the community at large.

Chris Gantt-SorensonAs the leader of the firm’s Employment Law practice group, Chris focuses her practice on helping employers, providing advice and counsel on all employment law issues that arise as well as defending them in litigation brought against them by their employees. Her practice areas include ACA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ERISA and SC employment-related law. Chris is the Legislative Director for the South Carolina Society for Human Resource Management State Council and an Adjunct Professor at Furman University. She is a frequent speaker on employment law and regularly blogs about workplace issues at www.scemployersblog.com.

Jeremy CookJeremy is co-leader of the firm’s Public Finance practice group. He regularly serves as bond counsel, disclosure counsel and underwriter’s counsel in connection with bond issues for cities, counties, state entities, nonprofit organizations and school districts across South Carolina. Jeremy also handles Fee-In-Lieu of Taxes and other economic incentive matters for corporate and county clients throughout the state. He is the chair of the South Carolina Bar Government Law Section and is on the board of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.
