November 11, 2016 - Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of six associates: Bess C. Allen, Mary Cothonneau Eldridge, Cameo Joseph, Bryan J. Kitz, Suyash Raiborde and Andrew M. Rawl.
Based in the Firm’s Charleston office, Bess Allen focuses on corporate litigation matters. She received a J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016. She was a member of USC Law Moot Court Bar, USC Women in Law, ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal and Order of the Barristers. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Sewanee in 2005. Prior to law school, Bess served in Charlotte, NC as a Staff Assistant in the Office of Senator Kay R. Hagan, US Senate and worked on Capitol Hill for over five years as Professional Staff of the Subcommittee on Science, Space and Technology. She was responsible for development and implementation of the Committee’s legislative agenda for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and oversight of STEM education programs at the federal agencies. Bess also served as the Committee’s international outreach coordinator, where she directed and oversaw long-term joint initiatives between the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.K House of Commons, the European Union Parliament and other foreign legislative bodies.
Mary Cothonneau Eldridge practices in the areas of commercial business and financial services litigation in the Firm’s Columbia office. She received a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016. Mary Cothonneau was a member of Order of the Coif, Order of the Wig and Robe and Phi Delta Phi. She served as Associate Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review. She received a B.A., cum laude, in English and History from the University of South Carolina in 2012. She serves as a Board Member of the Columbia Museum of Art–Contemporaries and as a Young Professional Auxiliary Board Member of Junior Achievement of South Carolina. In addition, she is a member of Columbia Opportunity Resource, Historic Columbia Palladium Society and Junior League of Columbia.
Based in the Firm’s Greenville office, Cameo Joseph is a member of the public finance and real estate practices. A native of Greenville, SC, she earned a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016, where she served as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, Director of International Relations of the National Black Law Students Association, executive board member of the Constitutional Scholars Pipeline Program, member of the Pro Bono Board and a student member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. In addition, she received the Compleat Lawyer Award. While in law school, she served as a law clerk to the Hon. Clifton B. Newman of the South Carolina Circuit Court and as a law clerk for the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission. Cameo received a B.S. in Language and International Health (Spanish) from Clemson University in 2013, where she was listed on the President’s List and Dean’s List, a member of Order of Omega and President of the Omicron Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Bryan Kitz joins the Charleston office of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd concentrating on real estate and general corporate matters. The Smithfield, VA native earned a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 2015, where he served as Editor in Chief of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and competed in the Judge John R. Brown Appellate Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as a Legal Intern at the South Carolina State Ports Authority in Charleston and at CMA CGM (America) LLC in Norfolk, VA, worked as a Summer Associate at a law firm in New Orleans, LA and interned for the Hon. Judge Christopher J. Bruno in Orleans Parish Civil District Court in New Orleans, LA. Bryan graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Government in 2009.
Suyash Raiborde practices in the areas of corporate and business immigration law in the Firm’s Greenville office. Originally from Mumbai, India, he received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2016. His leadership roles included serving as the Executive Administrative Editor of the Emory International Law Review and Team Leader of the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program. While serving as Team Leader of the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program, Suyash and his team filed a Writ of Certiorari with the Supreme Court of the United States, pro bono. While in law school, Suyash worked as a Legal Extern at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Office of General Counsel, a Judicial Extern for the Hon. Judge Christopher McFadden, Georgia Court of Appeals, and as a Teaching Assistant for Advanced Legal Writing and Editing at Emory. He received a B.A. in International Business from North Greenville University in 2012.
Drew Rawl joins Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Greenville office as a litigator focusing on commercial litigation. Drew received a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2016. He was a member of Order of the Coif and Order of the Wig and Robe. Drew served as Editor in Chief of the South Carolina Law Review and as a South Carolina School of Law Ambassador. Drew received a B.A. in Political Science from Clemson University in 2013, where he graduated magna cum laude. He served on the Academic Integrity Committee and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Theta Pi, and Order of Omega.
