Meet Doug
Doug Thomas advises a broad range of clients, including developers, investors, buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants, lenders and borrowers, with real estate and financing transactions. He guides clients through due diligence and advises on title matters, acquisition and sale documentation, financing agreements and leasing issues in connection with commercial real estate transactions. Doug’s experience includes drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, deeds, mortgages, easements and other real estate documents.Doug is a licensed title agent for First American Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title Insurance Company and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. He serves as in-state counsel for national underwriters, law firms and lenders, providing South Carolina guidance for multi-state transactions and national title teams.
Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, Doug practiced for fifteen years with a Columbia-based firm, where he focused on residential and commercial real estate transactions.
