Meet Bachman

A Charleston, South Carolina native, Bachman Smith handles high-risk, complex litigation for insurance companies and clients in the construction industry, particularly those in residential construction. He also writes and reviews construction contracts for owners, contractors and architects.

EXPERIENCE

  • •  Defends general contractors and subcontractors in matters involving homeowner complaints of negligent construction in both multi-family developments and single-family residences
  • •  Advises contractors and homeowners on matters involving new construction and renovation contracts

An asset to the Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd team and a Certified Circuit Court Mediator, Bachman understands the great benefit of alternative dispute resolutions, helping clients avoid the time and expense of trial.

Before becoming a lawyer, Bachman was a high school English teacher in Charleston for eight years. He was featured in a June 2010 SC Biz article titled, “Making a Second Career of the Law.”
