Kathy McKinney Named to South Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s 2026 Influential Women of Law List

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. is pleased to announce that shareholder Kathleen "Kathy" Crum McKinney has been named to South Carolina Lawyers Weekly's 2026 Influential Women of Law list.
South Carolina Lawyers Weekly selects recipients based on demonstrated leadership, business acumen, mentoring and community involvement, as well as their contributions to the legal field. The annual recognition celebrates the contributions of women who are actively shaping the profession throughout the region.
Kathy is a shareholder in the firm's Greenville office, where she focuses her practice on public finance law. She serves as bond counsel for many of South Carolina’s leading healthcare providers, educational institutions, foundations and continuing care retirement projects. Kathy has also played an instrumental role in drafting financing legislation for both the industrial and nonprofit sectors with the South Carolina General Assembly. She advises public and nonprofit institutions on corporate governance best practices.
Her leadership and influence in the bond community extend well beyond South Carolina. Kathy is a past President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and a former member of the Executive Committee of the American College of Bond Counsel. She is currently serving as an Independent Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank – Atlanta and chairs its Finance Committee. Kathy remains deeply involved through active board service with several charitable organizations, including the South Carolina Historical Society, the Sigal Music Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Textile Conservation Visiting Committee.
Her professional accomplishments have earned consistent national recognition, including listings in Chambers USA for Banking & Finance since 2020, South Carolina Super Lawyers® for Government Financing since 2014 and The Best Lawyers in America® for Economic Development Law since 2011 and Public Finance Law since 2003.
