HSB Marketing Director Keely Yates Receives 2024 South Carolina Women in Business Distinction

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A.’s Director of Marketing, Keely Yates, has been named one of South Carolina’s leading women in business for her impact on the legal industry and local community. She is among the statewide honorees recognized by the 2024 South Carolina Women in Business program, which is led by Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Magazine and B2B: The Grand Strand.
The Women in Business program highlights South Carolina women with an outsized influence on various fields in the state, including marketing, health care, law, real estate, finance and nonprofit organizations. Only those who have achieved significant professional success and demonstrated dedication to business and community are recognized in the annual program. Nominations are received from the community and judged by editorial staff.
For more than nine years, Yates has led all aspects of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s marketing and business development. Her areas of expertise include brand development, client retention efforts, digital marketing, social media and public relations.

Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, Yates served as Senior Vice President of the associate management division at the government relations service Capitol Consultants. Yates is an active member and former president of the Legal Marketing Association’s Southeast Region (LMASE) and held leadership positions within the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association (SCEDA). “Keely is always a consummate professional,” said Heather Simmons Jones, Southeast Operations Director of MRB Group and former President of SCEDA. “In the twenty years that I have known her, Keely has led organizations of all sizes, offering a common-sense approach to leadership, marketing and governance. Having chaired SCEDA under her leadership, I got an inside look at how humble she is and how hard she works. This recognition is much deserved.”
The Women in Business feature highlights some of Yates’s most notable achievements, including leading the redesign of the firm’s website, logo and branding early in her tenure. Her ability to work closely with the management committee on such large-scale initiatives and earn their unwavering support has significantly contributed to Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s ongoing success.
“Keely has been a wonderful addition to the Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd team,” the firm’s Economic Development Group chair Will Johnson said. “Her prior experience leading the South Carolina Economic Developers’ Association has been a huge plus, but her intellect, work ethic, creativity and positive attitude have really made her successful and have significantly elevated our law firm.”
