Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to announce that Kimberly Witherspoon has been elected to serve as President-Elect for the Junior League of Greenville (JLG). She will be the first African American woman to serve in this role. Her term begins June 1, 2021.
Kimberly has been a member of the JLG for 11 years and recently served as Community Impact Vice President. Kimberly and her fellow board members will lead the JLG in its community initiatives and membership development.
In her legal practice, Kimberly assists healthcare and educational institutions in mergers, acquisitions, expansions and affiliations with a concentration in addressing legal strategies for taxable and tax exempt debt and other financing opportunities. She serves as bond counsel for colleges and universities, foundations, healthcare institutions, continuing care retirement communities and nonprofit organizations.
Kimberly has been recognized as a South Carolina Super Lawyers® “Rising Stars” for Government Finance since 2014. She is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and is an Aspen Global Leadership Network Liberty Fellow.
