Costa Pleicones Receives Honorary Degree from Francis Marion University
Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd’s Costa Pleicones received an honorary doctorate of Humanities during Francis Marion University’s graduation on Saturday, December 15.
Pleicones also served as the commencement speaker, focusing on the importance of a liberal arts education and the impact it has on society.
“Go out and change your world,” said Pleicones. “The education you have received here (at FMU) empowers you to do that…Join the people who seek to protect our values.”
The former Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court, Pleicones now serves as Special Counsel and advises HSB clients on complex litigation and appellate matters. His experiences as a successful practitioner, trial judge and appellate jurist allow him to provide skillful and effective dispute resolution services.
