In Memoriam - Chip King
It is with great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, George S. “Chip” King, Jr., passed away on December 30, 2022.
Chip was a devoted member of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, and its predecessor firms, for 50 years. Beloved, respected, and trusted by clients and colleagues alike, Chip was a wise counselor, a “lawyers’ lawyer,” a master mentor, and a faithful friend. He will be deeply missed.
Chip began his legal career with Boyd, Bruton, Knowlton, Tate & Finlay, P.A. in 1972. He received his J.D., with honors, and B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Chip served as the senior member of our firm’s corporate securities and financial institution regulatory practices. He was recognized for his success by numerous legal publications, including Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and South Carolina Super Lawyers.
Chip served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force from 1964-1969.
