Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd Adds Three Associates Across the State

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. is pleased to announce the addition of three associates: John K. Langford, Pierce T. (Perry) MacLennan, and John G. Tamasitis.

Columbia, SC
John Langford’s practice focuses on corporate law, oftentimes involving entity formation, as well as commercial real estate and real estate financing, commercial transactions, and economic development.

Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, John worked both in the upstate of South Carolina and in Columbia while completing a management training program. He also participated in the Judicial Observation and Experience Program under The Honorable Terry L. Wooten of the United States District Court, where he performed legal research and drafted legal memoranda, and observed various federal court proceedings.

John graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2014, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Order of the Wig and Robe and a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. He also served as the Managing Editor of the South Carolina Law Review, was listed on the President’s List and the Dean’s List, and received the Nelson, Mullins, Riley and Scarborough Center on Professionalism Award in 2014. He graduated, cum laude, from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Spanish.

John Tamasitis focuses his practice on financial services litigation, as well as commercial litigation and insurance defense.

Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, John was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was assigned to the Air Force’s Office of Special Investigation. During his time in the Air Force, he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was also selected as the Investigative Region Company Grade Officer of the Year in 2010, and Deployed Officer of the Quarter in 2009.

John received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. While there, he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Wig and Robe. He was a member of the Veterans and Service Members in Law Society and the Federalist Society, and he also received the Richard J. Foster Award in 2012. John was awarded his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy, where he served as the Class President for the Class of 2005. He was also selected to participate in The Fund for American Studies, where he studied at the Bryce-Harlow Institute for Business and Government Relations at Georgetown University.

Greenville, SC
Perry MacLennan focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation and construction litigation. He works to help individuals and businesses with breach of contract and payment disputes.

Prior to joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, Mr. MacLennan worked in the Office of United States Senator Jim DeMint. In this role, Mr. MacLennan attended congressional hearings, compiled notes, and handled constituent calls. He also worked as a law clerk for the South Carolina House of Representatives Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee. Mr. MacLennan drafted bill summaries for the Committee Chairman and proposed legislation.

Mr. MacLennan received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2014, where he received CALI Awards for Contracts, Property, Evidence and Commercial law. He was also listed on both the President’s List and the Dean’s List. He was also awarded for the top overall score in the 2012 Law Review Journal Writing Competition. Mr. MacLennan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University, where he served on the Leadership Council and was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Society and Honors Organization.
