A versatile litigation attorney who has deep ties in his native Charleston, Mac McQuillin's practice focuses on guiding individuals and local businesses through complex lawsuits, including frequently litigating LLC and partnership disputes; probate, estate and trust cases; and litigation involving local governments.

South Carolina Super Lawyers magazine named him one of “The Rising Stars” for Business Litigation in Charleston for the last three consecutive years (2014-2016).

Mr. McQuillin has significant experience with both jury and non-jury trials in South Carolina’s state and federal courts. In his appellate practice, he has successfully handled several appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit involving a broad array of matters ranging from real property cases, banking disputes, and discrimination actions in addition to matters stemming from contract and business litigation.

Active in the community, Mr. McQuillin was elected in 2014 to serve on the Berkeley County School Board. He is a board member of the Junior Achievement Greater SC Coastal Advisory Board and the Lord Berkeley Conservation Trust. He serves as the law firm’s representative for the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce and was asked to participate in Elected Officials and Young Professionals focus groups for the Chamber’s Community and Economic Development Strategy and Strategic Plan.

Mr. McQuillin was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina and has deep ties in the Lowcountry.  As a law clerk to then South Carolina Governor and current U.S. Representative Mark Sanford, Mr. McQuillin researched existing and proposed legislation and its impact on South Carolina. He also advised the Governor’s Chief Legal Counsel on various legal matters involving the Executive Office.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. McQuillin clerked for South Carolina Senator George E. (Chip) Campsen III.  While working for Senator Campsen, he was responsible for constituent research and provided assistance during Senate debates on tort reform.
