Bess Allen focuses on corporate litigation matters at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd. She primarily works on complex property/real estate disputes, personal injury and premises liability defense and both residential and commercial construction defect litigation.
While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Bar, Women in Law, ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal and Order of the Barristers.
Prior to law school, Bess served in Charlotte, NC as a Staff Assistant in the Office of Senator Kay R. Hagan, US Senate and worked on Capitol Hill for over five years as Professional Staff of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. She was responsible for development and implementation of the Committee’s legislative agenda for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and oversight of STEM education programs at the federal agencies. Bess also served as the Committee’s international outreach coordinator, where she directed and oversaw long-term joint initiatives between the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.K House of Commons, the European Union Parliament and other foreign legislative bodies.
