Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd Attorneys Elected to American Board of Trial Advocates

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd is pleased to announced Ben Alexander and Sally Purnell, both shareholders practicing in the Greenville office, have been elected to membership in the South Carolina Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

ABOTA is a national organization, comprised of many of the country’s preeminent trial attorneys, whose main goals are the preservation of the Seventh Amendment right to a trial by jury in civil cases and the promotion of professionalism and civility among trial attorneys. Election to ABOTA is based on reputation, trial experience and high ethics. The South Carolina chapter of ABOTA also provides educational programs to other attorneys in South Carolina, students at the University of South Carolina Law School and to high school students in South Carolina. The South Carolina chapter of ABOTA has twice been elected “Chapter of the Year” by ABOTA nationally.

Ben Alexander focuses his practice on the defense of healthcare professionals. He has represented large health systems, free standing hospitals, national insurers of healthcare providers, physician group practices and individual nurses and physicians in both professional negligence and licensing matters. Ben is also a certified Circuit Court Mediator.

 

Sally Purnell represents hospitals, physicians and other healthcare providers in a wide range of legal matters. With over 25 years of experience defending and litigating medical malpractice claims, Sally has tried to verdict cases involving the most severe of damages, including birth injuries, profound neurological impairment and death.
