Meet Scott

Scott Frick is a litigator with more than a decade of experience representing clients in both federal and state courts. He has handled all aspects of cases, ranging from discovery to appellate matters. Many of Scott's cases involve technical and scientific subject matter, and he is adept at navigating these issues.

With significant experience in motions practice before the courts, Scott frequently takes depositions of both fact and expert witnesses in products liability cases, guiding clients through the discovery process. Scott also regularly assists clients in the retention of witnesses to be presented at trial—applying years of experience to understanding the strategic considerations of such decisions.

Additionally, Scott has:

  • •  Argued in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, United States District Courts, and South Carolina state courts
  • •  Participated in defense trial teams that took asbestos cases to verdict in state and federal courts
  • •  Defended a retail seller in a case involving allegations of benzene exposure
  • •  Defended a manufacturer in the automotive industry in cases involving allegations of products liability

Before joining Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, Scott worked in the Washington, D.C. office of the late U.S. Senator Strom Thurmond. He served as minority chief counsel to the Constitution Subcommittee of the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.

Scott also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Dennis W. Shedd of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
